Terms and conditions
The terms that apply when you buy a website or care plan from us, in plain English.
Last updated: 26 October 2026
These terms apply when you buy a website or care plan from Tradesman Website Design ("we", "us"). Please read them before you go ahead. We've kept them as short and clear as we can.
1. Who these terms are for
Our services are for businesses, including sole traders. By ordering, you confirm you are buying for your business. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have that cannot be excluded by law.
2. Quotes and orders
- We'll send you a written quote by email or WhatsApp showing what's included and the price.
- Your order is confirmed when you accept the quote and pay the deposit.
- Quotes are valid for 30 days.
3. Payment
- We ask for a 50% deposit to start work and the remaining 50% when you approve the website, before it goes live.
- Care plans are paid monthly in advance.
- Invoices are due within 14 days. If payment is late, we may pause work or hosting after giving you notice.
4. What we need from you
You agree to send the information, photos and approvals we need in reasonable time, and to make sure you have the right to use anything you send us (for example, photos you took or have permission to use). You are responsible for the accuracy of accreditation, insurance and qualification details you give us.
5. Changes and revisions
Two rounds of changes are included before your website goes live. Extra changes, or work outside the agreed quote, will be quoted before we do them.
6. Ownership
- Once you've paid in full, you own the website content and design we made for you.
- Your domain name is registered in your name, or your business's name, and belongs to you.
- Third-party items, such as licensed software, fonts or stock photos, remain owned by their providers and are licensed for use on your website.
- We may show your website in our portfolio unless you ask us not to.
7. Care plan and hosting
- The care plan is a rolling monthly agreement. Either of us can cancel with 30 days' written notice (email or WhatsApp is fine).
- Small changes are included. We'll tell you before starting anything that falls outside the plan.
- We aim to keep your website online at all times, but can't guarantee uninterrupted service, for example during maintenance or problems with third-party providers.
- If you cancel, we'll give you a copy of your website and help move your domain.
8. Search engines and results
We build every website following good practice for search engines. However, we do not control Google or other search engines and cannot guarantee any particular ranking, number of visitors or amount of work.
9. Cancelling a website project
You can cancel a website project at any time by telling us in writing. If you cancel after work has started, the deposit covers work done so far. If we've done more than the deposit covers, we'll charge for the extra work at a fair rate.
10. Liability
We'll carry out our work with reasonable skill and care. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business or indirect losses. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot be limited by law.
11. Complaints
If something isn't right, please see our complaints process.
12. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are based in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
